Since 1978, the
students from the secondary schools in Mössingen in Baden
Württemberg and from the Canton of St. Julien en Genevois
have developed contacts and exchanges.
In 1990 the official
twinning was finally signed between the two communities proving a
nice French-German friendship.
50 years treaty of Rome inspired our new artistic talents. This gave us the opportunity to show you a new photo album. These photos express the creativity and imagination of the young participants working for peace. There are videos with the same subject which unfortunately cannot be shown here for copyright reasons as for the music used. |

The twinning is
organised as an association according to the law of 1901 where
all communes of the canton of the community are associated and
supported by the CCG.
Representatives of all 17 communes
form the board of the association and meet about once a month in
order to promote projects of other associations or private
people. The board also organises activities and meetings and
informs the population of the canton to invite everybody to
participate.
The school exchanges as well as the meetings organised by associations with either sports, cultural or humanitarian activities maintain the friendly relations between the two communities.
The two
committees do meet as well twice a year and there are discovery
rallies, the Christmas market, anniversaries are celebrated and
especially projects involving young people are encouraged. The
results are amazing: every year several hundred families from
Mössingen and the canton of St. Julien en Genevois see each
other, travel and meet with pleasure and conviviality! No need to
really know the language of your neighbour: gestures, music and
the festivity are often enough to understand and appreciate each
other!
