In 2005, the CCG acquired the old aluminium factory in Beaumont. It represented an industrial wasteland. Because of rising demand from industrial companies and craftsmen the representatives decided to rehabilitate the buildings into intermediary workshops.
The principal ambition is to keep and create jobs for the Community while allowing new activities to implant on the territory.
This rehabilitation provides small industrial businesses the missing for in the Genevois with the space for rent that was missing. This site is home preferentially for young industrial companies or craftsmen (business start-ups less than 2 years old).
From the beginning on and contrary to what is done for other sites there is no selection for any special sector of activity. The idea is to host all companies which do not find adapted space on any other site of the territory. Restructuring plans are offered to companies that need to stock outside the territory.
Already existing companies:
The rent will be different according to the nature of the company. Business start-ups will have a lower rent to pay so that they have a better chance to get installed (purpose of the intermediary workshops), already existing companies will not have this favour.
The contract for the renting will be a function of the needs of the company: short contracts with special conditions (bail précaire) or normal contracts for renting a business location, or special agreements for occupation.
