Functioning of the Local Association for Cross-border Cooperation

A double entity: the strategy committee

This committee has been put in place in order to coordinate the organisation of the traffic in the Franco-Vaud-Geneva basin.: the joint presidency is carried out by the Canton of Geneva and the Region Rhone-Alps and assembles all concerned public partners :

• the Canton of Vaud, the Canton of Geneva, the Region Rhone Alps, the Department of the Haute-Savoie, the Department of Ain,
• the « Communautés de communes » : of the Pays de Gex and the Agglomeration of Annemasse and the Genevois.

They work on the following themes :

• dialogue, information, management/actualisation of the chart of the development of the regional public transportation (DTPR),
• planning, strategy for a concerted price setting,
• strategy of marketing for the development of public transport.

The Local Association for Cross-border Cooperation (GLCT)

It is an operational organism with a president from the Department of Ain (and a vice-president from the Canton of Geneva). This association has been developed in parallel to the strategy committee.

His missions are: operation of cross-border bus routes, marketing, price setting, administration, and other missions entrusted to the strategy committee.

The group has 6 members:

• The Canton of Vaud, the Canton of Geneva, the Department of the Haute-Savoie, the Department of Ain,
• The « Communauté de communes » of the Pays de Gex and the « Communauté de Communes » of the Genevois (CCG).
